Where are you located?
We are located at 278 Grand Street, New York, NY 10002. We are steps away from the Grand Street B and D subway station, and a few blocks from the Essex Street F, J, M, Z station. Many bus lines stop in our area as well, including the M9, M14, M15 and M101. There are also local garages and street parking.
Why Did We Move?
The dramatic increase in expenses and remote shopping made it not cost effective to maintain a large boutique shop. In our 128 year history we have been in four locations (Pushcart on Orchard Street, Basement store on Hester Street, 278 Grand Street and 98 Forsyth Street). A space became available at 278 Grand Street and we seized on the opportunity to return to the location that we had been in the longest (1936-2005). We are thrilled to make this move so that we can insure the very finest items at truly great prices. So come back with us to our roots and walk just around the corner to 278 GRAND STREET between Forsyth and Eldridge Streets. Come visit us in this beautiful new space. There are so many sizes, thread counts and styles! Where do I start?
We pride ourselves on “Hand Holding” one on one customer service. We are happy to give advice from start to finish to get you the right items that will make you happy and comfortable at great prices. We truly want your purchase to become an item that is a happy part of each day! OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON YOUR HAPPINESS!
How do I know if I will like the color or if it will match?
We are happy to provide swatches.
Do you do custom or special orders?
One of the things that we are most proud of is our ability to engineer custom items. We love to custom design, custom sew, and custom hand embroider. Whether it's making custom bed linens for an eight foot round bed for an NBA star or making deep fitted sheets for your new mattress, we can do it all. The only thing that we ask is that you verify all of the specifications that we need. Once the order is verified and placed you may not cancel or return custom merchandise.
What shipping services do you offer?
Our primary shipping carrier is the United Parcel Service (UPS). All their shipments are insured and tracked. For small items and swatches we use the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). We do not make a profit on shipping. As a matter of fact each year we lose money on shipping. For online orders we always use the lowest possible shipping cost. If you have any questions regarding shipping and/or exact shipping costs please contact us.
When will my order be delivered?
No matter how much we try to maintain expected delivery dates we deal with many workshops and manufacturers from all over the world and there are many variables in raw goods supply, manufacturing, labor and shipping. We thank you for your understanding that Indicated delivery dates are approximate and cannot be guaranteed. We will do our best to get you your order as soon as possible!
Do you accept returns?
Merchandise may be returned within 30 days of purchase for exchange or refund. A valid Harris Levy, Inc receipt for the merchandise must accompany all returns. Returned items must be in the original packaging, unopened, with all the tags and inserts in place. We require this because laws prohibit re-selling open bedding as new. No one wants to buy sheets that someone else already slept on! If you are not sure about an item we maintain a large supply of swatches, shams and in some cases, open sheeting. We would be glad to send any of these to you for a refundable deposit.

Our customers are everyone and everywhere. We have famous broadcasters, film and tv stars, champions of business, real estate and non-profit. Who Helps me, a commissioned sales person?
NO! We don’t have commissioned sales people who only care about their bottom line. We are owner operated by the 4th and 5th generations of the founders. We don’t advertise so our business is 100% word of mouth. OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON YOUR HAPPINESS!
What’s your secret for unique merchandise at reasonable prices?
Since 1894 our family has been seeking out unique merchandise at great prices from around the world. We maintain three generational relationships (over 100 years) with workshops and manufacturers from all over the world. Many of our resources are small family businesses who concentrate on high quality, unique hand-work.
